Stubborn and chronic pain is trying to tell you something, dont just numb it

Stubborn and chronic pain is a sign that something is wrong with your body and the problem needs to be addressed.  Numbing the pain with medicine to cover up the symptoms is not the best way to approach the message your body is sending you.  Of course pain after a surgical procedure, which is hopefully temporary, is ok and even necessary to numb down with medicine that treats the pain as healing occurs.  Sometimes thou the pain is a prelude to something much more serious and ignoring it or covering it up can lead to bigger problems later on.

Pain and its source and meaning have to be addressed as soon as its discovered, before it becomes chronic.  So the sooner you pay attention, the sooner you can heal whatever is ailing your body.

On the other hand, sometimes the chronic pain that is bothering you is not a problem with your physical body but it could be a physical manifestation of stress, anxiety, or unhealed emotional wound!   It could be a sign that there is something you shouldn’t be eating, an emotion you are not dealing with, or some situation that you need to address.  I remember over ten years ago when my mom was sick, I had this nagging dull pain in my lower back.  It turned out, with the help of my acupuncturist, I was able to link the coming and going of the pain with my feelings of guilt over her health.  Somehow I had taken on the responsibility for her health even thou I had nothing to do with it, and the guilt that was in my subconscious, although erroneously, was causing the pain.  Once I let that go and accepted what was, my back pain dissipated completely!

Stubborn and chronic pain is often numbed out with drugs or alcohol.  I want you to know that there is a better way.  A way of healing from what is ailing you.  A way to de-stress and thrive.  I’m a five element acupuncturist who uses traditional acupuncture methods for pain relief as well as constitution and emotion based acupuncture for achieving great results fast when the mind and spirit part of the mind body spirit is involved and is addressed.
