Essential Supplements in the COVID 19 era
How do we protect ourselves during these crazy times? Nobody really knows what direction its going to go, so far its getting milder but who knows what might be around the corner. We know there is long Covid, now I read there is intermediate Covid, and that there can be up to 50 different symptoms, depending on patient!! Thas crazy, thats never been seen. But this is what we got. The way to go is prevent that whole road, so please give this list of supplements a consideration.
I believe one way is to take the right essential supplements at the right times to lessen the chances of getting infected with COVID 19 or even just the cold virus. These supplements are essential.
I believe these supplements can be a lifesaver so please consider getting them and having them on hand. Some of these are for when starting to get sick (even a cold), and a few are for continued use. If you feel you have been exposed to COVID 19, throw all these at it along with good food and some form of exercise, not “exhausting” exercise but “getting the blood moving” exercise is enough, and plenty of rest.
Mullein tea: leafs or tea bags. Loosens phlegm in the lungs. Reduces inflammation all over but specially the lungs. Given what COVID’s propensity for the lungs with the phlegm (NET) and the inflammation it’s a must to get and have on hand, or have a cup a day…..perfectly safe for long term use and in Chinese medicine considered essential for lung health.
Omega-3 supplements with EPA and DHA. These are essential fatty acids and we need them in our diet. Omega-3 fish oils, (which can also be sourced from lichen and algae) are also slight blood thinners and this new disease, even couple of the vaccines, seems to thicken the blood and cause severe clotting problems in that sense for some people. These essential oils lessen the stickiness of cells to the arterial walls, are essential for all cells including brain and immune cells, and are powerful anti-oxidants.
colloidal silver: Kills viruses and bacteria and fungi on contact. The problem is finding a trust worthy source that contains the right form of silver at the right particle size (10-20 nM), specially now with short supplies. 10 PPM (parts per million) is the safe concentration to work with. Given that this virus which is aerosolized, gets in thru the nose or mouth. There it sticks to the wet mucous membranes and grows. Then some starts to float into the air that is moving thru our sinuses and throat as we breathe in and out. Now the lungs have a constant source of virus going into them without us even being in contact with anybody. This is the time to kill the viruses, before they incubate and grow in number. I find that colloidal silver solution, which is essentially water (99.9999 % pure water and 10-20 ppm particles of silver, is dropped into the nose (while inhaling thru the same nostril—yes it sounds difficult to pull of but it isnt—similar to doing a neti-pot ), then this fluid containing 10 to 20 ppm of colloidal silver, will kill any viruses that may have taken up residence there.
Curcumin: The best anti-inflammatory without inhibiting the necessary aspects of the needed immune response. Also a blood thinner, which maybe a life saver with this new virus. Do not take with aspirin or other NSAIDs.
Zinc acetate lozenges: one or two lozenges per week unless you feel like you are coming down with a pathogen, then you can take everyday. Zinc disrupts the binding of viruses to their preferred receptor and also is necessary for synthesis of over 300 enzymes needed for optimal immune and brain health, eyes, skin, etc. The body doesn’t have a way of getting rid of zinc so don’t take large doses for prolonged periods (50mg/week is optimal for a month, followed by none for a month and so on).
Lactoferrin: a mothers milk protein that helps the immune system and due to its high glyco content can interfere with the binding of the virus. Sold as powder in a pill so no worries.
Cimetidine: an OTC medicine for heartburn that has been found to have immune boosting properties…..activates NK (natural killer ) cells and inhibits T-suppressor cells (these cells can be overactive and keep the immune system from seeing the virus for the fight even thou cell recruitment still occurs due to high cytokine production, which is not good. In short T-suppressor cells play a role in the cytokine storm that is seen with the new virus.
DHEA: its an inexpensive and safe hormonal precursor and has been shown to protect against an overactive cytokine response to a virus or other pathogens
Aspirin: one of the best anti-inflammatories and thins the blood which maybe a lifesaver for those whose blood starts to thicken due to COVID-19. Don’t take with curcumin on the same day as propensity for bleeding increases: if you take a curcumin dose on one day and wait two days before taking aspirin and vice versa.
Vitamin C: a powerful anti-oxidant and recharger of the bodies main anti-oxidant GSH. The oxidative burst with the immune cells that occurs with this virus therefore will be less damaging, and it has a ton more benefits.
Vitamin D: 1000 IU per day minimum, up to 5000 IU per day. Helps the immune system do its job.
aged garlic extract containing allicin….a low dose for overall health and a very high dose if coming down with a pathogen. It makes one smell like sulphur (at the high doses of over a gram a day—must be taken with food) but is worth taking on Fri and Sat, or at least if you feel you may have been exposed, or definitely exposed and want to recover faster, whether your symptoms are mild or moderate. It helps. Boost the right type of immune cells.
Melatonin: its a very potent anti-oxidant and helps the immune system. Low doses (3-5 mgs) to ensure good sleep as that is how the body repairs and rejuvenates and high doses (10-50 mgs) if you feel like you got some virus and need really deep sleep to help with recovery. Dont operate machinery after a large dose. As of this article I just read (5/22), changing my mind on melatonin and waiting for more results to base my opinion on.
These supplements that I have listed above will help with any kind of an invader, but during COVID 19 times that we are in right now, they become key and a potential lifesaver.
Best of luck, cause that’s what it’s gonna take.
